2003 Season - Week 22

Sorry for the delay fellas but at last here’s the final newsletter of the season. The Pro Bowl is over and we have got six weeks until the NFL Draft & another six months until the BUMS Draft. What will we do in these dark months - thank heavens for Madden on the PS2! So let’s look back before we look forward. The Current Dynasty As the Patriots won their 2nd Superbowl in 3 years there was much talk of them becoming a modern day dynasty in this age of free agency. Well here in the BUMSBowl we have our own Dynasty. I’ve attached a full history of our knockout competition awarding points to owners based on which round they reached. While each year some forget to enter & others regularly fail to get passed the Divisional round one owner has only lost in the Divisional round once, made the Championship round 4 times & was beaten in the BUMSBowl last year, whilst winning it in 2000 & this year. I refer to the Dynasty that is Chief - I thank you! A week is a long time with the BUMS To finish our look back at the season attached is one of the favourite charts of the year giving a graphical view of your position in the league table each week. Last year Phil lead the Conference from start to finish, he tried flatlining again this year in the Premiership, but sadly it was at the wrong end of the table. How high did you fly- how low did you go? Franchise Players and Draft Picks And so we look forward and attached is a list of the owners in draft order together with their two Franchise players. Phil, Ron and Dave G will have an extra pick at the end of the 5th round as they cut their 1st year franchise men during the season. In the same way the play-off seedings work the draft order is based on lowest scorer to highest irrespective of division. Therefore Phil has the first pick and Wayne will have the 16th. A number of top scorers become available for the draft after serving their two years as a Franchise player, including Kicker Adam Vinatieri, Receiver Marvin Harrison and RB’s Shaun Alexander, LaDainian Tomlinson & Priest Holmes. Who will you take? It’s time to start planing! BUMS on Seats Two upcoming evenings give us a chance to get together. Firstly I’ve recorded 2 one hour specials from NASN one on Marino and one on Payton. These will be screened during March on either Monday 22nd March or Tuesday 23rd.
